What should I know about Porto Koufo?

Poseidi is located at a distance of 80 km from Thessaloniki airport. It was named after the god Poseidon. Poseidi is a small cape on the western side of the Kassandra peninsula. Its ancient name was “Poseidon” and it belonged to ancient Mendi.

Poseidi has three beaches, two of which are organized. The longest in length and width, but also the most well-known to the general public is the beach of “Aegeopelagitika“, which stretches to the right of the cape from the camps of the Aristotle University to the settlement of “Aegeopelagitika” from which it got its name her. Polychrono is located at a distance of 87 kilometers from Thessaloniki airport. It is a charming seaside village on the east coast of the Kassandra peninsula.

Polychrono is a village with a long history – as its name testifies. Now, over time, it has transformed into a popular tourist resort, attracting many visitors and bursting with life every summer. This is due not only to its long beach, which is consistently awarded the “Blue Flag”, but also to the taverns, which serve delicious seafood, and the atmospheric bars on the beach road, which make the nightlife in Polychrono lively and interesting.

Polychrono is a village suitable for family holidays. It is located 3 kilometers west of Polychrono towards the mountain, in a large forest area full of pine trees. In 2019, the Mavrobara trail was redesigned, cleaned and marked and is ready to welcome walkers. An easy, circular 3.2 km route, especially popular with families with children! You can walk or rent Mountain Bikes and explore the wetland of the small Mavrobara lake, which is the only lake on the first leg. • The hill of the Acropolis of the ancient city, the ancient cemetery and the early Christian church with the marble columns that exist in Polychrono.
  • Inside Polychrono you will find the folklore museum with exhibits of the life of the local residents.
  • The church of Agios Athanasios built in 1912, the square of the Nativity of Christ with the church of the Nativity built in 1863, and the outdoor olive press with the press.
  • Take part in one of the jeep safaris organized by the local hotels.
