What should I know about Chortiatis?
Chortiatis is located at the foot of Mount Chortiatis southeast of Thessaloniki, 18 kilometers from the city center. During the Macedonian struggle, the people there fought with the most important Macedonian fighter, the chieftain Georgios Alexopoulos.
The Chortiatis Holocaust took place during the Occupation, on September 2, 1944, by the German occupiers.
