What should I know about Asprovalta?

Asprovalta is located east of Thessaloniki on the western shores of the Strymonikos gulf and is accessible via Egnatia Road. It is one of the most notable tourist resorts of Macedonia during the summer. The coast is awarded the Blue Flag every year.

After the Asia Minor Catastrophe, 54 families from Renkioi (Ophrynio) of Troad, near the Dardanelles of Asia Minor, settled in the area, transporting many heirlooms such as the library of the school of Ofrynio.
